Best 10 Free CrossFit WOD Sites

We all love a freebie and many of us scour the internet for resources to spice up our training. So we’ve compiled the best places to obtain free CrossFit WODs (Workout Of the Day) on the internet in 2022.

Looking for some online inspiration

1. CrossFit.com

This is the originale – the biggest of all brothers – of free CrossFit workout sites. This is the place those Inov8 or ReeBok Classic wearing early CrossFitters would get their daily fix.

Everyday Greg Glassman would post a workout on CrossFit.com in the early 2000’s. This is how the sport grew so quickly as the internet became the epicentre of our world.

You can read about that in this summary post here.

This little goldmine has a massive archive of free workouts to get your quads into.

Dig deep.

2. WODwell

This little well of WODs never fails to deliver. It provides that shot in the arm when you need some Inspo.

WODWell – another mothership of CrossFit WODs

Wodwell state that 80,000+ athletes get FREE benchmark WODs delivered directly to their inboxes. There is also a paid version if you need to crank it up, but the free version will keep you busy for a very long time.

The filtering system on the website is extremely handy, and probably the best resource in terms of free, unbridled CrossFit beastings.

Check it out.

3. WOD Hunter

Another great free tool on the web. Not as fully comprehensive as WODwell, but the selection is not to be scoffed at.

WodHunter also offers a filtering feature, meaning if you’re searching specific movements within workouts (WODs), you can narrow your search down.

Top tip: when viewing pages like ThumbsUpFitness, screen grab your favourite ones, then send to your pals on WhatsApp. When stuck with writer’s block or Open Gym paralysis, open up your media history on the WhatsApp chat to find all your historic screen grabs to draw from. Kapowww.

4. CrossFitFree

Another fountain of pain – CrossFitFree.com will give you hours of fun. Based in Delaware, they have a clean, easy to read website that posts its workouts every day, much like CrossFit.com.

You can review testimonials from users/athletes on the site too, with a menu selection for various programs to fill your NoBulls.

5. CrossFit Invictus

If you’re into the sport, you would likely have heard of CrossFit Invictus. Think Lauren and Garret Fisher. American engine muscle. Massive green V.

Unmistakable big green V

These guys post their WODs online and are rich in the pickings. They also offer paid for tailored programming, including weightlifting, remote coaching, masters training and elite athlete programs.

Check out CrossFit Invictus for freebies.

6. Thumbs Up Fitness

I love this little goldmine, and often send the nuggets to head coach for programming.

Thumbs up for Thumbs Up

It’s not a website per se, but an Instagram page. It is really useful to have it on your IG feed, as you’ll scroll into something whilst sipping your morning coffee.

The page is still relevantly young, yet already has a sizeable following. Not surprising given the valuable free content it gives away every day.

Kapowww.

You’re welcome.

7. Boxrox

Another long-timer, Boxrox is a magazine for those who love CrossFit.

There’s the normal paid stuff on the website, but some free naughtiness you can get your hands on.

Check out what’s on their site.

8. The Box Programming

A page well worth following

This website is more on the lines of selling its programming.

However….they have an absolute beast of an Instagram page with a plethora of free CrossFit WODs! The Box Programming has been around a while and they are just shy of 3000 IG posts, many of which are free WODs and useful infographics.

With 298k followers, they’re clearly doing something right. Go check.

9. WODPrep

Not as substantial as the others, but worth a look for their resources, plus 48 free home WODs. WODPrep has made it on the list, also due to its substantial resource archive, not just the WODs.

10. WODs Library

Rounding off the top 10 we’ve got another Instagram page – WODs Library.

There are a lot of them out there and Instagram will likely suggest others to follow when you follow 1 or 2.

For now, this set of free resources will give you and your sweaty pals something to do for a while!

Enjoy.
